LARP IS LIKE A JOURNEY
You prepare your luggage and plan an itinerary. Everything else is adventure, discovery, experience. Which then becomes memory, more true and vivid because lived with all five senses, in first person, together with others - often strangers - who will become new friends.

In larp events, participants play the characters of a story, physically wearing their roles as if they were the protagonists of a film or a TV series.
They choose their role, pursue their goals, live their dramas and keep their secrets, sharing the experience with the other participants. No acting preparation is necessary, no experience in larp is required: what matters is being willing to get involved, to both let yourself be drawn in and to draw in the other players.
Larp is the acronym for Live Action Role Playing, meaning role-playing live. In fact, larp is an activity akin to improvisational theatre, but it involves neither an audience nor a stage defining the acting area. It usually takes place in locations that, also thanks to the use of scenic set design, evoke the atmospheres required by the scenario conceived by the authors. So, if the story is set in a castle, ideally the location will be a real castle.
Taking part in a larp event means playing your character freely and independently, savouring the plots and storylines that the writers have prepared for the participants. It means talking, acting and thinking by fully stepping into the shoes of your alter ego, living every moment and letting yourself be carried away by their emotions and their way of being.
TAKING PART IN A LARP
Eryados invites participants to buy a ticket to an imaginary place, yet one that is no less real for that.
Participants contribute together to the storytelling orchestrated by the authors through their choices, turning larp into a true collective work of art. There is no “winner”: the only loser is the one who puts competitiveness before a good performance or a good scene.
It is an immersive and memorable activity that encourages interaction, deeper engagement and curiosity, solidarity and collaboration. A fun experience, one of a kind, that you won’t forget.

Every aspect of the experience is crafted with care, passion and professionalism by a team of experienced organizers committed to ensuring the highest quality of each production.
Larp is steadily gaining academic recognition, acknowledged as an innovative and multidisciplinary expressive art form. It is also increasingly used as an educational and training tool, especially in the corporate world.

For years Eryados has been actively working towards the institutionalization of larp. Its most recent efforts in this direction include the creation of the International Larp Database (www.larpdatabase.com), funded by the Ministry of Culture and the European Union, and the promotion of Larp Forum - National Conference of Italian Larp (www.larpforum.it).
President Umberto Francia is also the author of the handbook “Larp, giochi di ruolo dal vivo” (2023) published by Dino Audino Editore, and a lecturer in larp design in the 1st-level Master’s program in Game Design at the University of Salento.
